Nursery Paintings by Brandon the Artist

Here are some pictures of the paintings that Brandon did for the nursery!  They match our bedding and decor/theme perfectly like we bought them almost!  Who knew I had married such an artist!  And my Dad came over and helped hang them so my mom and I could stand back and see where the best placement would be!  I've been such a great supervisor - good thing I have so many willing helpers - sure makes things easier on me!

Wilson Diaper Bag!

I'm so excited that my diaper bag that Brandon ordered for my anniversary gift came in last week!  He got maroon (for A&M - WHOOP!) so it would be gender neutral and he wouldn't mind carrying it too!  And since the third anniversary gift is supposed to be leather - he got "Wilson" engraved in leather on the front and leather on the zipper pulls!  I love it!  It has all different pockets for wipes, sippy cups, diapers, etc and it even has a changing pad in it!  Best anniversary present ever - I'm a VERY lucky mommy-to-be! :)

Fixing up the dresser for the nursery!

My Grandma Hirt came down for a week in July to visit and we had a great time!  We went to visit Mallory in Austin one day and went to see the Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Preserve and toured the Texas state capitol building and had a nice dinner with Mal when she got off work!  We also fixed up an old dresser/chest that my Pa-Pa bought for my mom's room when she was little.  My dad put a couple of new coats of paint on it and I found some pastel colored knobs that went with my nursery theme on Ebay to switch with the old black metal knobs.  Unfortunally I could only find a few online since they are discontinued so we got creative and bought some similar wooden ones at Home Depot and matching paint at Michael's that I painted.  After a few more trips to Home Depot, my dad and Grandma finally found the right size screws for all the different types of knobs, we came up with a design scheme for where each one should go - and they put it all togther and brought it over to put in the nursery!  It looks FANTASTIC with the other pieces of furniture I have found at garage sales and the crib and bedding we have!  I found the book ends online to match the theme and the lamp came with the bedding I got a the Katy Mothers of Multiples garage sale last spring with Brandon.  And the little elephant and giraffe figures my dad just randomly saw at Michael's when we were buying the paint and they just happened to look just like the bedding theme animals so I painted them and they really match great!  This baby has no idea how crafty their family is becoming - and I had no idea we could pull it off!  The nursery is nearly done except the name above the bed (since we don't know gender yet!!!!) and some artwork Brandon is working on!  I can't believe October will be here before we know it!!!

Getting the nursery ready for Baby Wilson!

Brandon painting the trim in the baby's room!  The color we went with is called "spirit whisper"!   Hopefully it has a calming effect hahaha!

The grandpa and grandma-to-be helped paint too!

Curtain I found on eBay to match the bedding along with the mobile that plays "Imagine"!  One of our friends is going to make letters to spell out the baby's name after we find out the gender when it's born and announce the name (its a secret too!).
The aunt-to-be and the "big brother" Rambo with the changing table I found at a garage sale and the wall hangings to match the bedding that I ordered off of eBay!  The diaper cake is from one of my students - so sweet!

20 Week Ultrasound!

Here are the pictures from our 20 week ultrasound!  It was so much fun to see our little one kicking and flipping and moving all around!  Halfway there - can't meet this little one!!!

16 weeks and counting!

I'm finished with my 16th week now (or 4 months along!).  I know looking back on this it will seem like it flew by but I'm so anxious to feel the baby kicking and to meet our little one that it feels like time is just inching along!  So far this second trimester has been easy as pie though!  I have A LOT more energy and I haven't been sick in over a month now!  We just had our last check-up yesterday and everything is going great - heart rate at 160 - it sounded like a galloping horse!  We have really kicked it in gear getting ready for this little bundle of joy!  The first thing we bought was a beautiful crib we found at Burlington Coat Factory that was a great deal!  We've also been going to some garage sales looking for baby stuff and have had some great finds!  We found an awesome pack-and-play, exer-saucer, activity gym, a lot of toys, a glider, and a lot more!  We even found the cutest bedding and I've been ordering matching decor from eBay!  Finding the baby deals is my newest hobby - I get so excited when I find a steal and see how much I've saved!!!!  Here are a few pictures of what we have bought so far for our baby!

Our beautiful crib!  I can't wait to see our little angel sleeping in there!

We're ready for Halloween!  I found this at a garage sale and couldn't pass it up!  The baby may only be a few days old this Halloween but their costume is ready!  In case you didn't know - I LOVE Halloween!!!
Baby-Einstein Exersaucer I found at a garage sale for $15! Fisher Price activity table I found at another garage sale brand new for $10!
Our Graco Pack-and-Play I found at another garage sale for $35!  It's amazing - I thought I had won the lottery when I found this!

Our bedding I found at yet another garage sale!  It came with 3 sheets, the bumper, a comforter and wall hanging clips, and a lamp!  I've ordered the matching mobile, wall hanging organizer, book-ends, night light, window valence, family tree picture, tri-fold picture frame, hanging crib toy, and finger puppets all from eBay auctions to go with it!  It's from the John Lennon Real Love/"Imagine" collection from Carters from a few years ago!  It's perfect for a gender neutral nursery!

We're Expecting!

We are so excited that we are expecting our first child in late October!!!  As of today, I am currently 12 weeks and 5 days along and we just cannot wait until October to meet our little bundle of joy!  So far it has been a pretty easy pregnancy with only a little nausea and a bit of fatigue.  I'm feeling fantastic now that I am moving into my 2nd trimester and most of my symptoms are gone or reduced!  We had our first ultrasound at 6 weeks at got to hear and see the hearbeat (120 bpm) and just had another ultrasound at 12 weeks (heartbeat was 160 bpm) and saw the baby kicking and waving and moving all around!  It wouldn't even sit still for a picture!  We are waiting until the birth to find out the gender so we won't get to have another ultrasound until I'm at 20 weeks and hopefully by that time I should be feeling the baby kick!  I can't wait!

12 weeks - Ultrasound picture of the left profile of the baby!  It's head looks huge since he/she will probably be a genius!!!

12 weeks - The baby waving at me!  It did this right when the technician turned on the ultrasound - it was so amazing!
